GENERAL INFORMATION

Built in 1932, this beautifully restored Armenian style house is decorated in late Ottoman style and offers superb bed and breakfast accommodation. You are invited to relax amid the sumptuous surroundings. Centrally situated directly amid the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Hippodrome, some rooms boast unforgettable views of these beautiful structures. Gaze at them over breakfast on the open-air terrace, before wandering over for a closer look. You will also be within walking distance of attractions such as the Grand Bazaar, Basilica Cistern and the Spice Bazaar.

AREA INFORMATION

Askin Hotel is located in the heart of Istanbul. There are many restaurants, cafes, shopping malls around the hotel. The Mosaic Museum, Islamic and Turkish Art Museum, Topkapi Palace and the Spice Bazaar are all within a walkable distance. Other nearby attractions include: Sultan Ahmed Mosque (100 metres) - built between 1609 and 1616 by order of the Sultan Ahmed I, after whom it is named. It is commonly known as 'The Blue Mosque' due to its striking interior blue tiles. Hagia Sophia (150 metres) - constructed between AD 532 and 537, this superb survivor of Byzantine architecture is often considered one of the greatest and most beautiful buildings in existence. It is now home to the Ayasofya Museum. Basilica Cistern (300 metres) - the largest of several hundred ancient cisterns that still lie beneath the city of Istanbul, capable of holding up to 80000 m³ of water.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

By Air: From Atartuk Airport (13.5 km): - Take the Metro train to Aksaray. - Take a tram in the direction of Kabataş. - Get off at Sultanahmet. - Head through the park opposite Hagia Sophia (you should be facing toward the Blue Mosque). - You will come out onto Dalbasti Sokak. - Turn left, and you will reach the hotel.
